I painted Safeguard as a reminder that the sense of awe we have as children, seeing the world as something magical, can fade as we get older. Life gets busy, routines set in, and that natural wonder feels fragile.
But I also believe it’s not gone. We can choose to keep it alive by slowing down, noticing small beautiful things, and making space for curiosity. The flowers and the playful colors here represent that fragile wonder. The act of holding the flower close is like making a conscious effort to protect and nurture that feeling of wonder in ourselves.
